Introducing California Bike Week™ – Headin’ Toward You At 210 MPH!
Pomona, Calif. (July 2, 2007) – Announcing California Bike Week,™ a three-day motorcycle event roaring into the Fairplex in Pomona, California Friday, November 9th and ending Sunday, November 11th with the 24th annual Love Ride,® the largest one-day motorcycle fundraising event in the world. Plan to spend the weekend with enthusiasts including Love Ride® Grand Marshall Jay Leno and thousands of your closest friends at the inaugural California Bike Week,™ a premier motorcycling experience held in one of the most motorsports-friendly cities on the West Coast. The event will feature:
- Bike Week/Love Ride auction in conjunction with Bonham & Butterfield’s Friday, Nov. 9 at the world-famous Petersen Automotive Museum
- All Harley-Davidson Drag Racing Association (AHDRA) racing on the famous NHRA drag strip, with exhibitions by the Harley-Davidson® Screamin’ Eagles team, Friday and Saturday
- Music and festivities each day of California Bike Week
- Debut of The Pacific Coast Nationals flat track races Saturday night featuring the Harley-Davidson® Wrecking Crew and notable racers of AMA fame. This event is open to all pro-level competitors, American and metric. This event will be produced by legendary flat track racer Gene Romero – an anticipated event not to be missed!
- Exhibitions by the Victor McLaglen Motor Corps Stunt Team
- “Ball of Steel” freestyle stunt team demonstrations
- Demo rides provided by the top major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs)
- Enthusiast trade show with hundreds of quality vendors, including the interactive Harley-Davidson® Village and traveling museum…their first time in Pomona
- Sunday’s 24th annual Love Ride,® and anticipated headlining concert benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Reading by 9 and Cure Autism Now (entertainment announcement coming soon!)

Says Love Ride® founder and owner of Glendale Harley-Davidson®/Buell Oliver Shokouh, “We’re happy to be part of this inaugural event and move the Love Ride® to the Fairplex.” He adds, “We certainly owe much of the success of the Love Ride® to Castaic Lake and the wonderful residents there, but because of that very reason the event outgrew the facility and had to look at options. California Bike Week™ and the Fairplex offered the room we needed, and the bigger the party, the more money we can raise for charity and that’s really what the Love Ride® is all about.”
