24th Annual Love Ride - News and Photo Gallery

November 11, 2007 - The Pomona Fairplex parking lot was a sea of chrome and rubber on Sunday morning as participants in the 24th annual Love Ride charity event gathered under a cloudy sky.

This year’s Love Ride is the first time the organization has used the Fairplex for the charity drive. The events at California Bike Week began Friday and ended Sunday which included drag racing, stunt-riding exhibitions, and a vendor/trade show. The Love Ride featured Jay Leno as the grand marshal and Gregg Allman as the headlining entertainer.

The participants were as diverse as their bikes. There were riders in their early 20s all the way up to those well into their 70s. Some wore T-shirts and jeans, while others wore the more typical leather chaps and jackets. There were also many who opted to wear not much at all!!!
 
The Love Ride was founded 24 years ago by Glendale Harley owner Oliver Shokouh as a way to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy and local children’s charities. To date, the Love Ride has raised more than $20 million.
